Apollo Method (Gastric Reduction by Endoscopy)

Apollo technology allows specialists to give dots through an endoscopy tube. This allows certain interventional techniques to be performed without the need for an operation; everything is done by means of an endoscopy.

It has been created by the pharmaceutical company Apollo, from which it receives its name.
In a procedure that lasts between 50 and 80 minutes, it is necessary to apply anesthesia and therefore is performed in the operating room for greater safety. However, no incision is made, it is not a surgery.

Its use in obesity, focuses on:

Reduction of the size or volume of the stomach (endoscopic plication or Apollo Method)
To reduce the size of the gastro-jejunal junction (is the communication that is made in a gastric bypass, and that some patients can dilate it reducing the effectiveness of the operation).
